16 Petersime BioStreamer™ 8S setters have been installed, adding up to a yearly setting capacity of 10,600,000 eggs. The project was finished in February 2014 and the first eggs were set on February 21, 2014.

According to Mr Lloyd Ponder (former GP & Productions Manager at Cobb Europe), the main reasons for this move are the increasing demands to enhance incubation parameters, on one hand, and the pressures on the ban on the use of antibiotics on day-old chicks, on the other hand.

Mr Ponder adds: “By switching to single-stage incubation, we can enhance our hatchery performance as well as hatch and supply top-class day-old chicks to our customers around the world. On behalf of Cobb Europe, we thank Petersime and its staff for the very professional manner of conducting the project.”

The Elsing Lane hatchery supplies grandparent breeding stock to a global network of distributors.
