Kenchic Uganda Limited, a prominent player in Uganda's poultry industry, took a major step to elevate its production capabilities by building a second hatchery in Uganda in partnership with Petersime Approved. Located in Namilyango, in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area, this project shows Kenchic's commitment to the production of local high-quality day-old chicks, reducing costs and enabling farmers to expand their operations and meet the growing demand for poultry products.

A partnership built on trust and knowledge
Kenchic Uganda Limited chose to work with Petersime equipment after John Torsius, Sales Manager at Petersime Approved, took the Kenchic team on a visit to a hatchery in Uganda, where they experienced Petersime’s technology in action and saw the impressive results it delivered. The hatchery visit built a solid foundation of trust and showed that Petersime Approved was the perfect partner for the Namilyango project.
Petersime Approved: secondhand incubators, firsthand support

Kenchic’s new turnkey hatchery, developed in partnership with Petersime Approved, features 29 AirStreamer™ incubators, a tailor-made HVAC system and comprehensive monitoring solutions. This set-up guarantees top-notch hatchery performance, strong biosecurity and efficient operations, allowing Kenchic to meet high-quality production standards. The hatchery has been running since September 2023 and the first results have already shown a great outcome with an average of 86% hatchability for broilers, 91% for coloured birds and 41% for layers since its set-up.

The Petersime Approved team played a crucial role in supplying high-quality equipment as well as providing essential training and support, which have been pivotal to Kenchic’s success in Uganda. Peter N.
