With the aim to build the most renowned hatchery in Moldova with the best quality chicks, Mrs Galina Cojocaru and Mr Grigore Cojocaru, owners of Puiu AXD, have chosen to work with Petersime for this special project.

The new hatchery in Moldova houses 12 single-stage BioStreamer™ 12S setters, 6 BioStreamer™ 4H hatchers and one BioStreamer™ Re-Store 12S incubator, which are all closely monitored using Eagle Eye™ and the Hatchery Alert System™. These setters have a production capacity of over 12 million hatching eggs per year. Petersime also designed and constructed a fully integrated HVAC installation. After the first phase in 2021 was completed, Puiu AXD then also decided to accommodate X-Streamer™ Chick-Store – the most modern of chick storage machines available – in the hatchery, which is unique in Moldova.
The X-Streamer™ Chick-Store is specifically designed to create an optimized environment inspired by nature, to ensure that chicks arrive at the farm in perfect condition. To offer the chicks optimum comfort after hatch, the Chick-Store machine incorporates powerful functionalities to precisely control the temperature and lighting, and deliver a uniform airflow.
“Thanks to Petersime’s X-Streamer™ Chick-Store, we have been able to increase the quality of our chicks. In the traditional chick holding room, each chick lost about one gram due to dehydration and stress. Now that our chicks are held in an optimal storage environment, we can maximize their potential,” said Mr Eugen Ambroci, hatchery manager at Puiu AXD.
Along with the quality and performance of their new equipment, Puiu AXD is also most satisfied with the incubational support offered by Simona Gheorghitoiu, Global Incubation Consultant at Petersime.
“94.2 % Hatch Of Fertile is a very good result,” said Mr Ambroci. The company’s end goal is to reach even 95%. The main goal of Puiu AXD is to become the most renowned hatchery in Moldova and offer the best quality chicks. According to Mrs Cojocaru, her company has chosen to work with Petersime because we can help her achieve those goals.
In the near future, Puiu AXD’s yearly production capacity will be further increased with another 12 million eggs, as the hatchery was designed for a total capacity of 24 million hatching eggs per year. To make that possible, Petersime will install an additional 6 X-Streamer™ 24S setters and 3 8H hatchers soon.
